shoes i did to wear to work. They're a symbol of what i do (i know it sounds cheesey). I work at the IACC (Irvine Animal Care Center). We primarily take in Dogs, Cats and Rabbits (as seen on the left shoe) but we also take in various wildlife like Opossums, Raccoons, Rats, Squirrels, Turtles, Snakes and Crows (along with other animals that i ran out of room for )
The back of the left shoe features the symbol for the shelter and the back of the right says IACC.
Yeah... I got pretty much all my animals from there (except for my rats) and the ones I didn't were other rescue animals :3 I dunno if you ever worked with the bunnies, but do you rmemeber Mr. Rabbit? I adopted him and renamed him Mr. Darcy

I dunno if we're hiring, i know that we just hired a bunch of people :/ but you can check out the City of Irvine website under employment, or stop by the shelter and ask the office staff. I sent in a job ap through the city web page.
I used Prismacolor markers on the shoes along with a clear varnish to water seal them (although i still wouldn't go stompin around in puddles with them ). The trick is to put the varnish on before AND after you color them or else the markers bleed (i sketched out the design with a pencil, did the outlines with a 01 prismacolor pen, erased the pencils, put on the varnish, colored, and then revarnished them).
markers arn't my friend either XD I'm still kinda getting used to them >.>
Animal experience is a plus for qualifying. I worked at an animal hospital for 2 years prior to the shelter so that helped. i only work about 20-25 hours a week, but it pays $13.50/hr.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This news article features five deviants who took part in Comment Month through commenting on the deviations that were submitted.
Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here. Although not all may be underappreciated, their efforts deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
